The trio's instrumentation is original to say the least, with Jean Ferrarini on Fender Rhodes, Martin Wisard on saxophone and Jean-Jacques Pedretti on trombone. Music generally evokes images or journeys.
Dialogue(s) is a particularly successful demonstration of this. Muted atmospheres, or more sustained rhythms, moments that remind us of the spirit of the South African bands dear to Dollar Brand. The three long-time accomplices always put themselves at each other's service, without showing off, but rather going straight to the essentials, to our great delight. The assurance of a moment of great intimacy and an almost meditative wisdom, which will do us good.
